Westbrook Advisory is an independent policy institute focused on defence, security, and geopolitics. We were founded on the view that Britain's approach to these areas needs sharper analysis and clearer thinking, particularly as the assumptions that shaped policy for the past thirty years are being tested. Our work is independent of government, political party, and any single funding source, allowing us to reach conclusions based on evidence rather than institutional interest.
Our work takes two forms. Through our research, we produce publications and analysis intended for direct use by policymakers, journalists, and the wider public debate. Through our advisory practice, we work directly with organisations navigating political risk, shifting alliances, and security developments, translating our research and expertise into guidance tailored to their specific circumstances. Both are grounded in the same standard of evidence and independence, and we welcome engagement from anyone who shares our view that Britain's policy debate deserves better.

Meet George Murphy
George Murphy founded Westbrook after a career path that moved from the ground level of housing into the centre of policy debate. His early work in housing gave him a practical, first-hand understanding of how policy decisions play out in practice, an experience that shaped his interest in the wider defence, security, and geopolitical questions facing Britain.
That interest led him to found GeoScope, a geopolitics media channel dedicated to explaining complex international developments to a wider audience. Through GeoScope, George built a track record of translating fast-moving, often technical geopolitical developments into clear, accessible analysis, a discipline that now underpins Westbrook's approach to research and advisory work.
George founded Westbrook to bring that same standard of clarity and rigour to institutional-level policy research, combining direct experience, a media background in geopolitical communication, and a commitment to independent, evidence-led analysis.
